Exploring Our Franchise: Your Step-By-Step Guide
If you are interested in exploring our franchise opportunity but not sure how this works, we have outlined the exploration process in six simple steps:
- Initial Call
Once you have made initial contact and received our overview flyer, you will be invited to schedule an initial call at a time that works for you.
These telephone calls are typically 20-30 minutes and are an opportunity for us to find out more about you, share the available territories near you and discuss the investment involved in joining the franchise.
Joining a franchise is a big step so we have no doubt you will have lots of questions. We advise you plan ahead to ensure you get the most out of the call, however we are always on hand to answer questions that may arise.
- Discovery Event
If you are interested in progressing after the initial call, we would love for you to join one of our Discovery Events.
In these events, we provide a high level overview of the support provided to our franchisees (or licensees as we call them) and the services offered to HR Dept clients so you can get a feel for the day-to-day activity.
You will be joined by other HR professionals interested in learning more about the franchise, so will benefit from hearing other attendees’ questions and group discussions.
- 121 Meeting
Following a Discovery Event, you will then be invited to a 121 meeting at our headquarters in Bristol.
In these meetings, you will have the opportunity to meet our Founder, Sue Tumelty and learn more about what to expect from life as an HR Dept Business Owner.
You will also be joined by our Finance Director who will talk you through a profit and loss exercise to give you an indication of costs to consider in your first year.
Additionally, members of our Central Office Team will talk you through three licensee case studies and disclose their turnover for their first 3-5 years to give you an indication of typical earnings.
- Speak with licensees
We understand the importance of hearing from licensees first-hand.
As part of the exploration process, we will organise for you to speak with two licensees to gather insights about their experience since being in the network.
This is typically a telephone call and is scheduled for 30 minutes at a time that works for you.
This a great way to hear more about the transition from being employed to being an HR Dept business owner.
- Reserve your territory
If you decide to join The HR Dept and we agree you will be a good fit, we request a 10% deposit of the initial fee to reserve your territory for up to six months.
Once reserved, induction dates are agreed, and we can start the onboarding process. The quickest we can onboard someone is six weeks.
- Induction
Before you launch your business, you will attend a comprehensive 3-day induction at our headquarters in Bristol to help get you started.
The HR Dept induction covers everything from our pricing and packages, the practicalities of running your business, sales training, our marketing tools, and an introduction to our systems (to name a few!).
